ITINERARY

Day 1    TIRANA (Podgorica)-SHKODER (day distance 110 km – 1.50 h drive)

Landing in Mother Teresa Airport or Podgorica airport.

Transfer to the Albanian northern city of Shkodra. Your tour begins with a visit to the Castle of Rozafa, the Austrian neighborhood, the Catholic Cathedral. Dinner at the Hotel.

Day 2   SHKODRA-THETH (day distance 120 km – 2.15 h drive)

Your day begins with a fascinating Jeep drive over the mountains to reach the isolated village of Theth where time has stopped in the past centuries. Have lunch in the open air enjoying the taste of local traditional food. Walk in the mountain paths to see the river canyon, the waterfall, the valleys, the tower of blood feud, the church of Theth. Dinner in traditional house turned into hotel called Han. Have some wine or tea sitting by the fire in the garden of the Han.

Day 3. THETH VALLEY – LEZHE – KRUJA-TIRANA

Your day starts with local baked bread, honey, butter, cheese and other original tastes before taking the road back to civilization. Next stop the city of Lezhe where the Tomb of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Scanderbeg is situated in the premises of the Saint Nikola Church. Continue the tour to the town of Kruja, birthplace of Scanderbeg and his most successful castle. Visit the museum built in his honour and the Ethnographic museum in the 300 year-old house of the Toptani family. Dinner in Hotel in Tirana.

Day 4. TIRANA – DURRES

Start the day with a visit in the most interesting objects of the Albanian Capital Tirana where history is mixed with modern. Walk in the pedestrian streets hand in hand, enjoy the Bazaar, see the underground antiatomic Bunkers built by the comunists, pray or meditate in the Roman Catholic Cathedral under the name of the Albanian originated Gonxhe Bojaxhi later reknown as Mother Theresa. Continue the day with a visit to the Coastal city of Durres in the shores of the Adriatic Sea to enjoy the original sunset over the Sea. Dinner in restaurant in Tirana with live music.

Day 5. TIRANA-AIRPORT

Enjoy the late wake up. After the breakfast walk in the park around the lake of Tirana, play basketball or have a coffee. Depending on the flight time transfer to the airport for the flight home.
