Day 1. After a warm welcome in the airport we travel towards Kruja town situated in the mountain that takes the same name. From this town Gjergj Kastrioti Scanderbeg, the Albanian national hero and strong ally of Janos Hunyadi, organized succesfully for 30 years in the 15th Century the Albanian resistance against the Ottomans. A visit in the Ethnographic museum, the castle of Kruja, and sightseeing in the Ottoman style old Bazaar district are the highlights of Kruja tour along with the traditional dinner in a local restaurant
in Kruja citadel. Overnight in Kruja (Hotel Panorama).
Day 2. After the breakfast we continue our tour with a visit to the coastal city of Durres. A city in which antiquity and modern life are well mixed with one-another. The Roman Amphitheater and the archeological museum that stores original artefacts from the Illyrian and hellenistic civilization will be visited in Durres. Free lunch in any of the sea-food restaurants in the Adriatic sea promenade. The tour continues with a 1.5 hour drive to the south towards the coastal city of Vlora where the Adriatic Sea joins the Ionian Sea. Dinner in Hotel. Overnight in Vlora.
Day 3. Vlora is the city in which in 1912 was proclaimed the Independence of Albania from the ottomans. The house of Independence, the square of the flag, the Muradije Mosque built in honor of Suleiman the Magnificient from the famous Albanian Architect Sinan, the Lungomare sea Promenade, and others will be visited in Vlore. Free lunch in Vlora. In the afternoon after a two hours drive we arrive in the city of Berat, declared by UNESCO as part of the World Culture Inheritage. Sightseeing of the unique neighboorhods of Berat city. Dinner in Hotel. Overnight in Berat.
Day 4. After breakfast we continue the sightseeing of Berat with a visit to its 2500 year old castle situated over a 200 meter high hill with fantastic view over Osum River, Tomorri Mountain and Berat city. In the castle a guided visit in the Orthodox Church „The sleeping of St. Mary as well as the Onufri Museum of Icons is included. After this momorable visit we drive to a nearby winery for sightseeing and wine degustation and a light lunch. After some glasses of wine and Albanian raki we drive towards the Capital of Albania. Day 5. Even a full day of sightseeing is not enough to unveil teh spirit of Tirana, but we will try our best to show you as much as we can about this city which is rich with memories from the past communist system and at the same time has been developed during the past 25 years from the private initiative to become a modern European city. Scanderbeg square, the National Museum of History, the former isolated neighborhood where only the communist leaders could enter, Boulevard Martyrs of the Nation, Mother Theresa Square, Janos Hunyadi square, and many more are to be visited in Tirana. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 5. After breakfast free time in the Park of Tirana situated around the lake. Free time in a shopping center. Transfer to the airport for the flight home.
